• I am sorry for this extremely basic question. I am very new to all this. I have a KML file that I would like to put on a map on my home page on my blog. I am using WordPress hosted by GoDaddy. I don’t think that you have a widget. I believe this means that I add a text box and insert your shortcode? My KML file is on my computer right now. I have no idea what to put in the text box. Your examples section didn’t include KML. I am trying to let my family follow me on my trip which has already started. If I missed a tutorial or set of instructions somewhere please point me to them. I know this is really basic but I don’t know what to do now that I downloaded the plug-in. Thanks in advance and sorry if I missed something on the Internet………Jackie

    G’day Jackie,

There’s a page about adding a KML map to your website in the manual. A simple example is this:

    [flexiblemap src="https://webaware.com.au/maps/example-toronto.kml" width="100%"]

Many themes let you use shortcodes in widgets, but that isn’t default behaviour in WordPress. If your theme doesn’t process the shortcode in a widget, you can install a plugin like Shortcode Widget or Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets.

    cheers,
    Ross
