HELP! Home Page Excerpt Questions

  • Please help — I do not have access to a WordPress expert:

    1. Is there any way to see the home page Excerpt of a post in preview mode before publication? After publication, when a change is made?

    2. How can I publish more than one post under the same Category heading?

    3. On my list of Posts and on the PostMash page, there are many posts listed as “Auto Draft” — these are empty documents. I have moved them to the trash. How do I empty the trash? How do I prevent these “Auto Draft” items from appearing altogether?

  • 1. Before publication – no. after publication, just visit your home page.

    2. Simply file posts under any of your categories when you create or edit them.

    3. To empty the trash, tick all items and then select Delete”.

    How do I prevent these “Auto Draft” items from appearing altogether?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
