HELP! I can’t get descending sort order on Event List to work

Whatever I try – different combinations of order, orderby etc. I can’t seem to get the events listed in reverse date order, with the future/most recent first. Ideally sort by event_start_date DESC, event_start_time ASC, so that where there are 2 events on the same day, the earlier start time appears before the later start time.
I want ALL events to appear, with no exclusion where multiple events on same day/at same location, grouped my month.

I have:
[events_list_grouped mode=”monthly” category=”-9″ date_format=”F Y” scope=”all” orderby=”event_start_date, event_start_time” order=”DESC”]

but whatever I do is always oldest event first.
Only 2 events to be listed – only 3 events present, one excluded by the -9 category restriction.
