HELP – I screwed up the WordPress address

    I messed up and changed the WordPress URL address in the settings area of the WordPress and now I can’t access the backend editor. I still have FTP access but my blog is all messed up. If I can open up the appropriate file via FTP, change the directory URL back, and re-save it will that work?

    Can anybody help me and direct me to the file I need to edit and tell me what to do?

  • Consider using phpMyAdmin to make sure your wp_options table has the correct values in siteurl and home.

    siteurl is your WordPress address (URL) and home is your Blog Address (URL).

    And, some other info:

    Yippie! That fixed it! Luckily I knew exactly what I had done wrong to break the link. But I had no idea how to fix it. Now I have phpMyAdmin as a resource for troubleshooting in the future, too.
