HELP – I’m stuck!!

  • I have cannot get into the dashboard for my www.ads-software.com website.

    My user name and password get me into the forums but when I try to use that to get into the website I get a message that says it’s the wrong user name.

    Can someone please help me with this.

    I can’t get into my own website to work on it, update it, etc.

  • Your WordPress forums password is only for this site, not your own. You’ll need the user name and password you set up when you installed WP. The usual standard username is “Admin”, and if you haven’t changed it to something more friendly, the password will be a random one that will have been shown on screen and emailed to you when you installed.

    I am having a similar problem. When I try to log in to the Admin panel with the user name admin & the password I was given, I get a message that that password is wrong. This is a site I have taken over for someone & I really don’t know much about WP. It is not being hosted by WP. I was told that this info only works on my self install of WP. This was sent in an email that I received from Simple Scripts with the link, so I don’t understand why it doesn’t work.

    Do you have access to the email used for the admin panel, if so click the forgot password at the bottom of the sign in box.

    I tried that & got nothing. What email address is the new password supposed to go to? I signed up for a WP account & tried the username & password that I got for that but it didn’t work.

    I also tried using my email address to get the new password & I get a this message:

    ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.
