Help! image uploader taking forever!!!

  • Help. It has taken me over two days to upload 50 images to my site. I’ve not even put them in the blog post yet as that’s taking ages too. Everything is just running really slowly and I can only upload images in batches of 2 or 3 at a time or else it crashes and doesn’t do anything for hours! (i discovered this after setting it up to upload 50 images and went away from my computer then came back 3 hours later to discover it had uploaded 2!!).

    This is really slowing down my work as I need to blog post my photos to help me get work.

    I’m not happy at all.

    Can anyone help?

    ps. all images are 600 px wide and 72 DPI (they are not big files!)

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
