help I've killed my blog

  • Hi, I tried to put some code into my blog now all I get is:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’ in /home/loulimar/public_html/wp-content/themes/thesis_17/custom/custom_functions.php on line 52

    I’m new to all this, what can I do? I tried to find it in my control panel but cant find it.

  • Check for spaces at the top of the file you just edited. You need to have a character of some sort on the first line, no blank space at the beginning.

    thanks but I can’t even get into wordpress to put it right. it’s locked me out with that message and my blog has dissapeared!

    Try for now just renaming wp-content/themes/thesis_17/custom/custom_functions.php to something else and see if that let’s you back in.
