Help – keep receiving notifications but with 0.00 value in USD

That link doesn’t work. It could be that someone is just pounding on your site. I haven’t added any “captcha” into the Seamless Donations form, so it’s possible it’s just getting hit by some ‘bot or something.

If it continues, let me know and then provide me as much detail as you can.

Same thing happened to my site. 17 $0.00 “donations” in the last 24 hours (the link opens my Posts page in WordPress):

I’d like to try to figure out if that’s spam, or some weird artifact. First, are you running the 4.0.6 release candidate (it reports as version 4.0.5)? That captures better log data.

In any case, there’s two parts to log entries, initiations (pre-PayPal) and returns from PayPal (IPNs). Do you see 17 initiations in your log? Or are you just seeing 17 IPN replies back?

If you want to post (or email me) your log, I’d be happy to look at it. Grab the data before the [wordpress] block.

With the limited amount of info I have now, I have three thoughts in mind: 1) some new and nasty spam, 2) PayPal is spewing IPN notifications (which it does sometimes), and 3) some new and ugly bug in Seamless Donations (which also happens sometimes).

Ugh, cannot get into the log, error:

That looks like a permissions error on your host. I’ve never seen it, but I’ve asked the author of AdminPageFramework if he has any suggestions how you might fix it or what to ask your hosting provider.

I’m starting to think you’re both experiencing some spam. I’m working with the author of Goodbye Captcha and we should have a working captcha solution for you all in week or two.
