Help! Localhost to online

  • Hi there.

    I’ve been making a new WordPress site but the old one is still running. Now I want to replace the old one with the new one. I’m using MAMP for the localhost. What is the best way to do this. Is it enough if I install the same theme I’ve making customising on the old site and then import the wordpress data from the new one?

  • That’s usually how I do it. One thing to keep in mind is that your settings (including your widgets, menus, custom header, and custom background) won’t be included with the export from your local site so you’ll have to do that manually.
