Help- need to see an earlier version of the site I just overwrote!

    I just renamed some pages and accidentally deleted a page!
    Can I revert to an earlier version in order to retrieve it?
    I will be impossible to recreate…

    embarrassed to say it, but I can’t find any trash icon

    If there’s no trash icon visible, it’s emptied. Did you look under the revisions for that page?

    Do you have a backup of your database?

    Click on “all pages” in your admin menu and it should bring up

    ALL, PUBLISHED, TRASH

    I don’t see any indications of revisions either.
    And I deliberately created a new page and then put it in the trash, but still don’t see any trash icon.

    OK! found the trash, but nothing there helps.
    Where to find the revisions…..?

    Have you renamed the page then?

    Visit the relevant page, click “screen options” at the top of your screen and then tick the “revisions” box.

    Any revisions will show near the publish button.

    AMAZING! AND FREE! I went to a site called recovermywebsite.com and entered the URL. The next day in my inbox was the whole thing, downloadable. Wow!
