am working on creating a directory of mobile repair shops using WP Job Manager, and I need some guidance to implement a specific feature.

Here’s the functionality I’m aiming to build:

    1. Mobile users?(customers) can post?repair requests?on the site (e.g., phone screen repair, battery replacement).
    2. Nearby repair shops?listed in the directory can see the repair requests and respond with their?repair cost?and an?estimated time to complete the repair?(similar to a bidding system).
    3. The?user (customer)?can then view the different responses (bids) from the repair shops, compare prices and repair times, and select a shop to proceed with the repair.

I’m currently using WP Job Manager to manage job listings (repair requests), and I’m looking for advice on the following:

    • What’s the best way to allow?repair shops to submit bids?(quotes) for each job posted by the customer? Should I use the?Applications add-on?or is there a better solution?
    • How can I ensure that only?nearby repair shops?(based on the user’s location) can view and bid on a repair request?
    • How can I present the?bids?to the customer in an organized way, so they can easily compare prices and estimated repair times?
    • Are there any?plugins?or?add-ons?you recommend to streamline this process?

I’m also open to using any geolocation plugins that can help with filtering repair shops based on their proximity to the user.

Any guidance or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

WP Job Manager is primarily used as a Job Listing addon. It isn’t really designed to be used as a bidding platform.

You could use add-ons like Applications for vendors to submit their bids and offers. However, this would require a lot of customization, especially customizing the dashboard to display the different bids the potential vendors offer.

    Hi @sidhvj,

We do not officially endorse 3rd-party plugins or themes, since we do not have full control over those products and cannot guarantee they will work as expected.

That said, you may check out plugins listed on our site that extend functionality of WP Job Manager: https://wpjobmanager.com/product-category/3rd-party/
