Hello,

I need some help please. I searched and nothing I find is helping. I downloaded wordpress. It is in my download folder. I unzipped the file. I know this may be a dumb question, but I do not understand what to do next. I have a macbook air. Where do I move the files to? How do I open wordpress and how do I start using it. I tried following the directions, but I am lost. Where do I find the server to put the files on?

You need to buy web hosting and a domain then transfer the files there and I would also recommend setting up a local environment for testing and development.

In order for you to install the WordPress properly. you need to go to YouTube and watch a couple of WordPress videos out there. Hope this helps. Thanks!

After downloading the www.ads-software.com package and unzipping…
You should decide whether you want to work locally on your machine on start developing directly online.

INSTALLING WORDPRESS LOCALLY (On WAMP):
Assuming you are working on Windows, follow the steps given here to work locally on your computer with WordPress: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-install-wordpress-on-your-windows-computer-using-wamp/

INSTALLING WORDPRESS ON YOUR HOST (Working Online):
1. Buy a hosting plan and a domain.
2. This is a basic tutorial by hostgator which you can follow for any hosts(not just hostgator) to install WordPress: https://support.hostgator.com/articles/how-to-install-wordpress-manually
3. Now-a-days every hosting provider have an automatic WordPress Installer which enable you to install WordPress with a single click(no upload and other configurations required). The hosting provider will also provide you with a step by step guide on Installing WordPress manually(if you choose to do so), so don’t worry.
