Help on blog resizing.

  • Hello, first of all, my blog can be seen at https://www.thebrokenreflection.com

    And basically my question is this: I am on a TV instead of a monitor, so I see the website in 1280 x 720 resolution. It looks fine in this format, and everything fits together as I want it.

    When going to a higher resolution, like 1920 x 1080, the Primary Sidebar and the Content for the posts separate out, they look further away from each other leaving a blank space in the middle.

    I would like it to all be together like on this blog: https://www.theunconventionalmind.com

    If you CTRL + Mouse scroll on that blog, the entire page stays together no matter what.

    Is there a specific DIV tag I need to have that corresponds to all of the elements in the page to keep them together? I’ve been working on the site for awhile, and this is the only big issue I’ve ran in to.

    Any help will be wonderful, thank you in advance!

    It appears you’ve chosen a theme that automatically resizes in order to display on all devices including mobile devices etc.

    This doesnot mean that no matter what, the site looks identical on every device. It means it tries to make ‘an intelligent guess’ as to how display the site in an acceptable way on the various devices and circumstances.

    Perhaps you messed up the theme when adapting it to meet your needs… or it’s not the right theme for your purpose/ goals.

    I really appreciate the response. Unfortunately I love the theme, and this is the only issue I’m having with it. Is there any way to fix this issue? Could I upload maybe the code from the index or from the style sheet that could help identify?

    The lay-out of the theme seems ‘bog-standard’; Most /all themes can do ‘main content on the left, sidebar on the right’ for you. The only thing slightly unusual is the header. The slider / multi-image thing seems special, but is fairly common these days.
    Find out which plugin / slider is used and apply it to a new theme, without the ‘responsive’=rescaling features.
    As always things like colors can all be changed to meet your needs; either through the dashboard or by editing the stylesheet and / or php-files.

    Hi,

    With all due respect, while I really appreciate the response, what I want to use is my current theme and not another one. If there is not an answer for fixing my issue, then I respect that, and I will go about finding the answer myself. Otherwise I would much appreciate some help fixing the issue and not finding an alternative theme. I’ve put a lot of work into this specific one, and over all of the issues I’ve faced and overcome with it in the last two months, it would seem like a failure and a waste to give up trying to find the answer, and just settling for a new theme.

    I would not know if / how, though.
