help on my WP post thumbnails and feature post

Hi great community of wordpress.
I am currently setting up my profile portfolio web site and I am using creatif theme by rockable press which is a free theme when I bought a book.
But I cant seem to make my site as neat as the preview https://superpreviewer.com/creatifportfolio/

if you check my site you see the the (excerpt is not on the right part). I think it is posting the whole post and not an excerpt, also I have read about post formats, but I think the theme doesn’t support it, cause I have read somewhere that there is a post format to make my post have a thumbnail on the left and text on the righr in one line. the same problem goes with my recent projects post, the featured Image is on top which I dont like. I have also a wordpress.com site and I can easily make my post format like however in the .org im kind really troubled , please anyone help me?

PS. also unlike in wordpress.com which has theme options in the appearance tab my theme in www.ads-software.com dashboard only has themes,widgets and editor.
