    Hi there,

On your help page making a contact page that looks the same as the demo, there are 2 issues:

    1. what code do I have to enter in Contact Form 7 to make the question or form turn into an e-mail? (I now get empty messages, although I moderated the 2 mails AND I got only one message for the admin, not for the sender. PLUS I get this WordPress sender instead of the name I entered)
    2. I managed to create placeholders like the demo form has, but when I click in the field, the description stays there. While your form makes the field empty so I can type in the requested information. Also: my descriptions are black, as if that is the information needed, while yours is gray, looking like a proper placeholder.

How can I get this working properly?

I can’t give you a url yet, the website is being developed. But if needed, I can send login details by e-mail.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi HvH,

It seems that you are having problem setting up the contact form 7, so you can view this video which will help you in sorting out the contact form 7 setting up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94VFE-MhVOc

    Thanks.

I’ll do that. I know how Contactform 7 works, but I’ll watch this video later this week.

    Hi StyledThemes,

I watched the video and (as expected) I learned nothing new. The problem I disbribed in the first post. On the demo page you explain how to modify Contact Form 7 into something with a very slick look. With code and all. But nowhere is an explanation of what exactly to do with that code. THAT is what I’m looking for.

I hope you understand my question.

And I’m looking forward to your answer. If needed, I can provide you with login details of the website I need it to work on (I now use Ninja Forms temporarily) and my e-mail address.

    Hi HvH,
Please send us your login details in email and we will see what we can do.
    Thanks.

Really, do not ask that again. Seriously.

@gejay Note that I’m not accusing anyone of ill will or bad intentions. But asking for credentials to get access like that is really discouraged.

Please don’t do that: when you offer to get admin access and/or FTP access then you’re really going to far and that’s not cool.

Unless you willing to take responsibility for that user’s installation for now one (and they should NOT let you do that) then please do not ask or suggest that someone provide you those admin or FTP details.

You can provide assistance here, ask for log data, you can make recommendations and even suggest changes. But do not seek login access. That’s just going too far.

Jan, I offered those login details myself. So accusing the theme author of asking for it and blaming him is not fair. I worked this way before with other plugin/theme writers and I trust them. Sometimes a writer can’t help in the forum and those login details are needed. I solved several problems that way.

The authors are not allowed to ask for login details. Authors should know this, it’s in the forum welcome and moderators frequently discourage this on the forums.

I don’t think the forums are a suitable support method if you’re going to get people to contact you privately anyway. I know you’re happy to get someone else to do the work for you, but if you’re asking for help on the forums then you have to abide by its limitations.

Okay, well, however… I’m still looking for an answer to my question ??

I appreciate your answer, although I don’t agree with what you say. But let’s not stress this discussion, but seek for an answer to the original question. Any ideas?

    Hi HvH,

Did you got your solution? if not please let us know.

    Thanks

No, not yet. I’m still waiting. I made a workaround, but I prefer the solution of this issue.

    Hi HvH,

We are asking for details before, but we can’t replicate that issue without access of admin, cause it works proper with our theme. so could you please send us your wp-login details so that we could replicate actual issue and give solution.
    Thanks

Yes, I’d love to give you access. What e-mail address can I use?

    Hi HvH,

Please send us the email to [email protected], so that we could replciate issue and provide solution.

    Thanks

I e-mailed several times; the last reminder dates from October 16th. I’m disappointed in your support service. I didn’t get any reaction whatsoever. I don’t use Contact Form 7 anymore and won’t recommend it to anyone, telling about the non existant support service.

I still hope I’ll get an answer to my question someday, but in the mean time, I know better now.
