    Hello,
Two days ago I noticed that some of the pictures in my lastest newsletter had moved around. I have been using WordPress for about three years so am pretty experienced at placing pics left/right justified and using captions. I know a little bit to look at code through the “text” menu. Then I noticed that many other newsletters going back years have been affected, plus other random essays on my website.

The link for my latest newsletter above is a good example. If you scroll down a bit to the picture of Grace Kelly, it should be left justified with the caption under the picture. Likewise, all the other pictures and captions throughout the newsletter – some are affected, some are not. But all of them seem to have the correct code on them. Very puzzled and alarmed by this!

I am wondering if this has to do with a plug-in update that has rendered all material on my site like this? It seems to be in the left/right justify and/or captioning?

From what I can see on the new 4.9 updates, this might be the culprit?
Media: Use max-width for default captions (#33981)

Either way, its created a chaotic look to all my material, and I wondered if there is a virus but had a scan done and apparently not. Thanks for your attention!

This is what my web guy just told me:

“There is now a requirement to set a maximum width for the captions, there didn’t used to be. I’ve aded a quick CSS fix which has put the bulk of images back as they should be, but I would like to make a more precise bit of code that sets the width to fit each image – I’m sure some ingenious coder will share that before too long as I’m sure this has affected many, many sites.”

My response to him: “yes, it appears to have half fixed it, as there are still wide margins on the vertical borders. I estimate about another 10-12 mm either side if that is tweakable in your CSS fix.”
