The plugin messed up the whole site :(, I dezactivated it and is the same…after that I deleted it and nothing…the problem is when I installed the plugin and crated a new table too see all the features…a major problem occured and I don’t know what to do because I didn’t build the site :(…on the first page should be each post from every category (there are 4 categories of posts to be published)…and now instead showing one post from each category it shows all the posts from all 4 categories on the first page :(, and in one particular category are 3 posts and it shows one post on each page instead all 3 posts on a single page, please help

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble!

Now, I’m very very sure that this is not caused by TablePress! TablePress does not influence the showing of post/pages/categories in any way!
What you describe sounds much more like a problem with your theme or even more likely with the custom code that you use to load those first posts per category! The reason for that is that your problem persists after deactivating TablePress. As no code of TablePress is executed in that case, there is no chance for TablePress to change anything in that or to be involved with this.

If you reactivate TablePress and delete all tables, and then deactivate TablePress again, there will be nothing left from TablePress, except two entries in the wp_options table. These can not cause the problem that you describe.

To fix this, it is probably the best idea to use a backup of your site that does not contain the modifications that lead to this. Now, again, I’m very sure that TablePress has nothing to do with this.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

thank for your answer, no other change was made to the system before installing the plugin and no one else has acces to the site admin area, and it worked perfect, I have to mention that the version of WP is 3.4.2., the latest before 3.5, I deleted the TP, in the first place I dezactivated and then after nothing good happened I deteled it so I can’t delete the table, hmm the backup is quite old…:(, I am pretty sure that TP affected somehow the site, I don’t know much about it but but no other interaction was with the admin of the site, maybe is interacting somehow with the theme as you said…what option we have?

    Hi Catalin,

again, I don’t think that this was caused by TablePress. But to be really sure that nothing is left behind from TablePress, please re-install TablePress, delete all tables, and then deactivate and delete TablePress again.
If the problem persists after that, we know that the real source of the issue is something else, because TablePress does not contain any code or make any modifications that could cause this directly.
If the problem disappears after this procedure, we know that the cause for this was the table that was still saved as a “Custom Post Type” in the WP database. That then means that the code that you use to show only those first posts per category and so on is written badly, as it takes all Custom Post Types into account.

    Hello Tobias,

thank you for your answers, the code used is that from the theme, I didn’t tried to place another post since then, and also I didn’t tried what you said to install again the plugin and to remove the table if it was created one, but I am pretty sure that the problem was caused by the plugin, I managed to fix the posts on the main page, but soon I will need functional tables in furhture posts, should I install it again?are you sure that will not mess anything else the beta version of tablepress?

    Thank you

    Hi,

again, I don’t think that TablePress caused this.
Please try what I suggested above, with reinstalling the plugin and then deleting all tables.

How exactly did you fix it on the main page?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

I fixed it from the theme/Front Page Settings/ How Many Posts In Each Category

    Hi,

thanks for that info. That setting makes much for sense than TablePress causing this.

So are your issues with TablePress now fixed or do you still have problems with the plugin?

    Regards,
    Tobias
