While editing in firefox, if I update a post or page in text mode and switch to visual and switch back to text this code is added.

    <span style="border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;">Save</span>

As you can see it says display: none but in certain situations it displays anyway such as content sliders.

This was not an issue with previous versions of WordPress.

I have tried disabling ALL plugins to no avail.
I have disabled all add-ons in firefox as well… no help.

This doesn’t happen in Google chrome. Haven’t tested other browsers.

Please advise. If I can’t resolve this I’ll need to contact many people with a message to discontinue editing in firefox.

I’ve re-enabled all plugins because that wasn’t the issue.
As I said… only an issue editing in firefox, not in chrome.
There are no pages with the errant text because I removed it and didn’t switch to the visual editor after updating.
    I found this issue today.
I haven’t gone on any of my other sites to test but many are running the same theme – suffusion – and similar plug ins.

Will you ask another person to try editing in firefox?

OK – May I ask why?

Sure. If it happens to you in FF but not Chrome then it could be something on your end. We can rule that out if another user has problems.

I did ask someone but in the mean time I tried on another computer. No issue but also in the mean time I received an email notice that wordpress had been updated to 4.5.3 I tried again using the original computer and there is now no issue. This has been resolved but I don’t know how. Thank you very much for helping me

You’re welcome. Glad it is all ok.

I am seeing this same problem in WordPress 4.7.3 and Firefox 52. It’s incredibly annoying – resulting sometimes in 10 of these span tags appearing at the bottom of the post.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I figured this out… at least for me. It was my pinterest extension in firefox. so I would suggest disabling extensions to see if they are the culprit.

I cannot edit in WordPress when it is enabled or it adds text. I contact pinterest about it with no response.

Oh, I bet that’s it. I just installed the Pinterest add-on last week. And here I was going through all my WordPress plugins trying to figure it out.

Thanks so much! I’m off to uninstall Pinterest.
