• Apologies if this is obvious and I missed it. I was unable to find the answer in the FAQ or elsewhere.

I’m about to give up on WordPress. I love the site but I’m constantly losing the formatting I put in my posts.

Everytime I force a whitespace entry in a post via any means I can think of the system “helps” me by removing it. If I code direct html in terms of <br> tags or <p> </p> tags the system removes those too.

I can’t figure out how to put simple whitespace in my posts to make them more readable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • 1. Never put code in your text/post if you are using the terrible wysiwyg editor.
    2. Don’t even try just switching between Code and Visual. It won’t work either.
    3. You want code? – you need to disable for good the wysiwyg thing.
    4. Yes, WP will delete out more than one <br /> tags. That’s not the way to “make posts more readable”. You have a stylesheet – you can define font size, line height, margin for paragraphs etc.
