help. product bulk edit not working

whenever i try to use the bulk edit function on the products page it exits from the bulk edit area within seconds before i am able to make any changes. does anyone have this problem? and what is the solution?
its just not easy for me to edit each and every product. and the bulk edit would be very useful.
assistance would be appreciated.
