Help removing approved spam comments

  • Unfortunately I have allowed spam comments on blog posts and I now have almost 80000 to remove. I have had a look at old threads and haven’t found anything that I can figure out what to do.

    I am not very technie, apologies.

    If you want to delete all comments, it will be quicker to do it via the database directly; however, if you’re not comfortable with SQL, this may not be advisable as it’s very easy to accidentally wipe out the content of the entire site.

    I’ve not used it, but there appears to be a plugin promising to do exactly this, which should be easier and safer than trying to do it yourself:

    As with all things, I would recommend making a backup of the site before using this plugin, just in case.
