• Hi guys,
i have a problem. Some of my sites were hacked sometime ago and i cleaned some of them. But 3 of them still leave spammy links in google search engine. Google forum could not help me out so i hope someone can help me here.
When you look for site:domainname.com in google search engine you will find links like: domainname.com/?mk=michael-kors-layton-bag-salad-recall

How can i remove or block this?My sites are all virus free, i cant get the spammy links removed through webmaster tools.

I think it has to do with a GET variable.
    Any help appreciated.
    thank you

  • Hi,

What happens when you try to follow the indexed spam (yourdomainname.com/?mk=michael-kors-layton-bag-salad-recall) links?

Maybe it would be a good idea to give us one of your domains where the spam links are still indexed.

Nothing happens. You just come to my site and you see the link in the browser. But it’s not a page on my site..One of my sites is homeremediesworld.com.I hope someone can help me out.
    thanks

I hate to give you bad news. It appears there are live spam links on your site. This is why Google is indexing them and why they wouldn’t remove them in Webmaster Tools.

Here is what I did to test your site. As you did in your first post, I entered site:https://homeremediesworld.com. The first link returned was: https://homeremediesworld.com/?mk=michael-kors-yellow-handbag-2014. I entered that whole URL into a server header checker at: https://tools.seobook.com/server-header-checker. The header returned a HTTP/1.1 200 OK. This means the page was found and was properly formatted. I did the same with two more spam links and got the same result.

I next tried entering https://homeremediesworld.com/afgkl (these are just nonsense characters) in your site. I got a 404 page not found error from your site and from the header checker. This along with Google’s indexing, proves to me that the spam pages are really there. Otherwise, your server would have returned a 404.

It’s likely that the sites still contain malware. It’s difficult to know when you have found every piece of bad code.

Yeah i know about the bad news for a more then a month now.
Well i tried every scanner, i let 2 people look at the site.Sucuri en quttera at the beginning gave me the warning but when WE removed the viruses/malware the 2 scanners dont find anything.Same for other scanners.I had someone from avast look at the sites and he also could not find anything. Do you have any experience in what kind of problem i have?Do you know how to fix this?
The strange thing is that the spamlinks dont have any function. They dont redirect any visitor to another site, they dont change any text or what so ever.
Not many having this problem like i have.

Hope you can help me out
    thanks

It is not easy to locate every piece of malware in only one site and you have several. Also, just because the site isn’t showing outward signs of being hacked doesn’t mean it is not heavily infected. Your infected sites are a good example of what I’m saying.

Hacks adding spam links like yours are not that unusual. However, more often they are pharma related versus the retail spam you have. The links are put there for SEO reasons and are designed to stay hidden from non robot visitors and admin. There is SEO value in the links and Google has indexed them. So they are really doing something.

Your sites can be fixed. It will take time and a focus on the smallest details. If you have known good backups, you can restore the sites and save a lot of time and effort. If you don’t have good backups, then everything but content should be replaced. Trying to shortcut the process is just an invitation to reinfection and re-hacking.

Your situation is more complicated because of the numbers of sites involved. But everything can be put back. Pick a hacking repair process from the many available to you and follow it. You will find help here in the forums if you get stuck. People with average WordPress skills repair their sites here everyday.

Or pick someone who does site repair. And let them have the headaches.
