Help! Space between drop down menu in IE but not in FF or Opera

I have a twentyeleven theme that I have modified over the years to change it up a bit. Somehow I messed up the drop down menus where there is a gap between the parent menu item and the drop down menu. In IE this is a big problem because you can’t click the dropdown menu because it disappears when the mouse tries to go over the gap.

I have no idea how to fix this, I’m a medium-noob at CSS.

If you have suggestions on fixes I would love to hear them!
