  • Hi Will_canon,

Could you check for me if you have Debug on, in your WP-admin file?

    Greetings,
    Adil

try to temporarily deactivate all plugins to see if that resolves the problem.
what happens if you temporarily switch to an unedited Twenty Twelve theme?

you have done possibly extensive edits to functions.php of the theme (the original functions.php is only 511 lines long) – what is the full code of functions.php of your theme?
please use the pastebin – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Posting_Code

MtpIntros – Unfortunately, I am not the first person to work on the website and I do not have access to the WP-admin file. I can try to reach out to the original designer to see if he can fix it or find a way of transferring the WP files to us, but I just want to explore other options before first.

alchymyth – I tried to deactivating all plugins (including reinstalling the Facebook plugin, activating, and deactivating it) and the error did not disappear. I’m confident its at the source of the problem. I switched to an unedited Twenty Twelve and it removed the error; however it removed every other edit and feature about the site as well (obviously).

Edit: I tried removing the message aaaand now the site is completely down. Please help.

    Oh god,

Okay, no worries. We will figure it out.
What did you do before the whole website broke down ?

I erased this line on 685:

    trigger_error( ‘Could not retrieve post from id=’ . $canonical_id . ‘.’, E_USER_WARNING);

Then the sky fell. And I tried putting it back with no positive result.

Edit: We’re in contact with our host about getting it reverted to where we were on Sunday night. Wish me luck.

Alright, our customer representative at our host had the site reverted and the error code suppressed (though not necessarily fixed). I’m pretty embarrassed at what happened, but I’m glad it’s over now, and I learned to be more careful with this sort of thing in the future! Thank you for your support anyway!

    Ah okay,

    Glad it’s fixed now.

    Good luck!
