    Hello,

I have received an email from Wordfence telling me about an issue with DNS on my website. Here is an extract from this email.

“This email was sent from your website “name of my website” by the Wordfence plugin.
Wordfence found the following new issues on “name of my website”.
Alert generated at Tuesday 23rd of August 2016 at 09:19:59 PM
    Warnings:
    * Your DNS records have changed”

However, as I logged into my website, Wordfence scan is telling me that there is no security problems were detected and everything is fine.
I have contacted my host but they cannot help me as they haven’t done and cannot identify any changes with my DNS.

Could you please advise me if I can ignore this issue, pointed in the email or if I have some real problems and need to do something about it?

    Thank you for your help.
    KR.

  • Hi mrslamo,

as long as your host has looked it over you can ignore the issue. Likely there was something that changed in the DNS that they did not consider significant. If you get any more messages like this, get back to us though and we can take a closer look at it.

    Hi there,

I have had exactly the same scenario today with my website. I would be very grateful for an explanation ??

    Many thanks,

    Tony

    Hi wfasa,

thank you very much for your advice. I will come back to you in case I will receive more of those messages.

    Hello Tony,
I’m afraid I don’t have access to your DNS records so I can not explain what may have changed with them.

You might want to use a free service such as dnshistory or any other one you can find in google to see if your DNS records have any recent changes.

In most cases the changes are intended. Your webhost might change a server IP for example. Wordfence only warns that a change has taken place. It can not know whether the change was intended.
