Help to change home-static page layout

Need help changing the layout of my static home page.

I know to utilize the style.css on my template in Editor.
I would like to drop the menu UNDER the logo, keep the slider, remove the content area or make it smaller in height.

Can anyone give me some brief descriptions as to where/what to change?

I can get in and edit…just dropping the content area down is tough.
