• Hi there,

    I’m trying to center the logo insider my header in the twenty twelve theme. I tried making a child theme but it didn’t seem to override the parent (though I am logged in as admin and the theme is active…) I am new to this, so help is greatly appreciated!

    The site is https://endowmentinstitute.org/beta/. I’ve downloaded firebug and here’s what the code says:

    <head>
    <body class="page page-id-10 page-template-default logged-in admin-bar custom-background full-width custom-font-enabled single-author customize-support" data-twttr-rendered="true">
    <div id="page" class="hfeed site">
    <header id="masthead" class="site-header" role="banner">
    <hgroup>
    <h1 class="site-title">
    <a rel="home" title="Sustainable Endowments Institute" href="https://www.endowmentinstitute.org/beta/">
    <img alt="Sustainable Endowments Institute" src="https://www.endowmentinstitute.org/beta/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/SEI-Logo-e1388431318512.png">
    </a>

    How can I modify this to center the logo?

  • Hi emilysei,

    Were you unsuccesful in getting a child theme set up? If so, I would suggest going back and nailing down the child theme. It will save you TONS of heartache, sweat and tears down the road when the Twenty Twelve theme gets updates and your custom functions and styles get overwritten.

    One way to center the logo at the top would be adding this to your child theme or mail theme CSS file.

    .site-title {
    text-align:center;
    }

    This should do the trick, but may be an issue if you ever include text into your header.
