Help understanding: suddenly new users on our website in Coming soon mode

    Hi all,

    I’m flummoxed. My client came back from a weekend away and says she got an influx of “new users” on her website. The odd thing is that I have the website in Coming Soon mode so no registration forms are visible. is this a new type of brute force attack someone through a backend?

    I want to understand it so I can prepare to prevent it. fyi…site is being re-designed from a client DIY attempt(hah) and I have yet to install Wordfence, which I am doing.
