Help updating to 4.4.2 from 4.1.1
-
Hello! I am new to www.ads-software.com, but I have worked in WordPress.com. I have been asked to take over a website at work and update and maintain it, but I need help figuring out why it’s not updating. I finally tracked down server information, and found that the server is here in the building, but I don’t know if that means that it’s hosted on that server, or if the person who built the site used a host like BlueHost or something? I’ve been working with our IT team, but they don’t know anything about WordPress. They tried to help me update manually, but I’m afraid that has made it worse as now I can’t update the plugins either. I tried flushing the cache, but I don’t know if I did it correctly. I have read through WordPress updating help articles, but since my knowledge of the basic process is limited, I am hesitant to try and update manually myself. I do have the FTP credentials. Below is the information I think is relevant:
Current version: 4.1.1
Updating to: 4.4.2
Error message when updating:Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/release/wordpress-4.4.2-new-bundled.zip…
Unpacking the update…
Could not create directory.
Installation Failed
When I try to update plugins: An error occurred while updating Advanced Custom Fields Pro: Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).
Browser: Chrome
If you need any other information, I will do my best to provide! Thank you!
