  • It looks like there was a problem with your database tables. Talk to your host and ask them to restore a backup of your wysija tables.

    Guess what? We had the same problem. Lost all the newsletters and database of the lists… after we upgraded to the new version. How could that happen?

    Databases can fail, like hardrives fail.

    It’s important to ensure daily database backups!

    I agree with you, backups are very important. And unfortunately I am 2 days late to being able to recover the db backup of my wp install previous to mailpoet’s update…

    However, it is peculiar that after the march 30th update, two months later I found a complete new install of mailpoet, with sample newsletter, all lists gone, and no history of past newsletters.

    This looks like an erase-all install.

    My fault that I did not check the plugin after the update, of course. But how can an update result in a clean install instead?

    The only way to totally erase MailPoet data is through the reset tool in the Advanced Settings of MailPoet.

    Otherwise, plugin updates or reinstalls don’t affect your data.
