Help with a hack or something else?

Hi guys,

Thanks for helping me first.

So I have a clients site which I thought had been hacked but I’m told by the hosting company Bluehost it hasn’t and the wordpress just needed updating. So I updated to 4.1.1.

Still having issues:
– So there’s an odd character after the body tag, I noticed on the homepage which is not appearing on the dev site sarahladams.co.uk/cwade password playground.
– Homepage styling is broken I believe that’s to do with the broken body tag
– Admin/menus is all a mess and I can’t mange menus very well, I can only add and delete but the function to edit is gone
– News & Events page no longer works

Client has only been posting blog posts so I don’t think they’ve messed with the code.

I’m not a php developer mostly themeing so please bare this in mind when helping me ??
