Help with Adventure theme port to WP 2.0.x

Hi,

I really liked this theme (https://www.davesadventure.com/) so I downloaded and wanted to use it. But seeing the theme, it was a mess without end, so I tried to port a Kubrick theme to resemble the adventure theme, but this is my first try at this, so it looks horrible so far.

Can someone give me some pointers or even help me, as I think it would be a theme that many could have an interest in?
