• Hello. I am brand new to WP and need some help. I am trying to stand up a clean little site for a small business friend of mine. I am trying to learn how to use WP and customize it at the same time. The template I am playing with right now is Ad Mag-Lite.

Anyway, I want the front default page to show a static article at the top so they can easily add any new news or announcements. Then under that I want to be able to have other articles as the see fit, most likely showing inventory and such they are selling.

I have 2 pages and 2 articles written to test. The front page is only chowing the excerpts for the 2 articles and I want to be able to see the whole articles, like I said above. I would rather not edit any code for something so simple if I can help it. How can I make the change?

Like I said, I want a full static article at the top, and then other full articles listed below, like as a history.

To get a post to stick to the top, mark it as sticky.

As to excerpts vs. the full post, I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/ad-mag-lite#new-post so the plugin’s / theme’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    Thanks.

I did find the sticky option. I did post in that other forum but haven’t gotten any responses yet. I am just stuck.

I am not set on that template, but it was just one I found that looked good as a starter template. Like I said, I am very new to this and am just trying to help a small business have some presence on the web. Any suggestions on this template or any other is appreciated. I thought there might be an option to change this in the control panel and it might not be a template modification.

I basically just want a home page that allows them to have something written that stays at the top, and then the option to put other pieces of content below that, and of course change that setup if needed. I have used Joomla for years so I know how to do it there, just not WP yet.
