Help with Contact Form 7

I have put two Contact Form 7 simple contact forms on 2 different websites. After the forms have been filled out and sent, the recipient gets and email. In that email everything is there except for the telephone number which is a required field. I have read the Contact Form 7 documentation but the number fields documentation is really confusing and the Contact Form 7 People just refer me to WordPress. org for help. Please Help. Thank you.
