• I’m using 3.0.5 and can’t seem to crop images for my thumbnail post correctly. Any help is appreciated.

I edit the image, set the crop top 1:1 ratio and set it to affect the thumbnail. Then I set it as the featured image to display on my post. What happens is the area I cropped does not post rather the exact center area of the image is what shows. That area is unfortunately not the area I cropped.

    Thanks in Advance!

  • Untick “Crop to exact dimensions” in Settings->Media & update your settings.

Tried that already, but thanks. Maybe I’ll try again today with a non-frustrated approach.

Yeah … no matter what I do, it selects what it wants and not what I select. Could it be theme based and not a wordpress issue?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I’ll give it a shot…seems a lot of work for a simple issue huh?
