So the homepage come with a lot of pre-set products, categories etc.

The groups of products / categories on the home page seems to use some sort of short code to display them but I have no idea how it works, where it’s created etc to create my own.

I have created product tables that use short code in the past an inserted them where ever but this has me stumped.

Question: How do I edit these to make them them display what I want?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @mmk175

I checked your website and noticed that you are using the default homepage that is designed with multiple blocks. You can easily customize your homepage and add your own shortcode by following our detailed guide here: https://woocommerce.com/document/installation-configuration/#section-13

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi @shameemreza,

Thanks for that. That link and the link within it regarding short codes seems to focused more towards introducing someone to building with the blocks and using short codes. I am no expert but I do understand how to use a lot of the features provided as pre-sets.

I was asking about the default short codes because they appear to be very well made and mobile responsive.

Further to this the blocks appear to be very clunky compared to the default ones. As I try to edit something like the display of products within the “all products” section the “master” template for how the products looks seems to be all over the place.

Also, if I try to build something like “categories list” all I get is the uncategorized category added with no obvious way to edit it like other blocks.

Yea it just doesn’t appear to be picking up my categories now that I think about it.

If you view my home page now. You see above the page break I have added the example mentioned above and how they are broken.

@shameemreza I decided to just go on and use some of the blocks provided by woocommerce but they appear to be a bit limited in their options.

Those default blocks cannot be recreated based on my limited knowledge.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi @mmk175

There are several ways to enhance the functionality of your WooCommerce store. You might also want to consider using a page builder such as Elementor or Beaver Builder. These tools offer a wide range of customizable blocks and are compatible with WooCommerce. Since they’re third-party plugins, it would be best to contact their support if you decide to explore them.

Please don’t hesitate to start a new topic if you have any more questions down the line.
