Help with how to set up product

I have a variable product that I am trying to add more options to. I am not sure what the best way to accomplish this is. I’m not sure that adding another variation will work. I will try to explain what I would like to do. My product is complicated so to simplify I will use another product example.

Lets say the main product is insulated water bottles and there are 30 different size variations for this bottle. (I know, far fetched but lets go with it) So customer chooses the size. Now the lid options are what I want to add. The lid is included in the price of the bottle and the customer could just choose “Standard” and receive the normal lid but there are also several options I want to have available. First customer needs to choose a sealed lid or a lid with a pop up straw. Then he needs to select between 6 or more different colors of this lid.

Here are a few issues. The lids are already a separately sold product and each variation – like sealed or straw and color have their own SKU number. When this is chosen with the bottle, I need the SKU info to come thru on the sale as well. (I say this because I have TM Extra Product Options plugin but if I use that route, the SKU info isn’t delivered)

Ideally, I would love to conditionally have certain lid options appear according to what size water bottle is chosen but would settle for all lid options to be listed if I must.
