Help with IE – my theme is a mess

  • My site looks fine in everything but IE 8. It even looks OK in 9 & 10.

    I ran in through the site validator and the problems that come back I can fix, but don’t warrant the site not working (small problems like missing alt tags and border inline vs CSS)

    I have scoured the internet for help and put way too much money into a programmer to fix. Any ideas?

  • Even though something like half the world still runs XP and IE8, most coders run away from it and suggest putting up a notice such as Google uses to suggest a newer browser. You have a nice site, and IE8 will likely need its own style sheet (just like in my own Twenty Twelve) to ever really work well there. Every once in a while I see a theme somewhere claiming to work well in IE8, but I suspect we each have too much invested already to ever make the switch.
