Help with Navbar

Hi,
I’m having trouble with the navbar I’m making.

Its pretty easy to see my problem =/
I’ve created 7 .png files for the 7 buttons my site will have. All those buttons are brought into the site using <div> and they are all within an encompassing <div> called #navbar.
I thought by limiting the height of #navbar to the height of the buttons, I could “force” the buttons to horizontally align themselves, but its proving stubborn.
Any suggestions to get the button .pngs to line up horizontally?
