Help with themes

  • I dont understand how to make a theme “my own”. I love the way it looks in preview and it either looks completely different once I download it, or it looks exactly like it and I don’t know how to change it. For example, I really like the theme Minimatica, but I have no idea how to change the images to be images I want. I am really new at this and really need the help. I have looked at books on word press and I still cant find what I am looking for.

  • If you want to customise a theme, you will need to work with HTML, PHP & CSS. I’d suggest starting with Theme Development.

    seriously! I was given the impression that wordpress was going to be easy. It has lots of themes to use, well yes, it is that. But only if you want the boring themes. Figures

    It gets easier and logical in time. 1.5 years ago I knew nothing about wordpress, php, mysql, css and sutff…

    Yah, 1 year ago I didn’t a thing about WordPress and I just kept filling in the blanks until I started to experiment. Now I have moved to Aathualpa. You can see it at https://bachutha.com. Just remember Try It Out. It it goes wrong who is going to notice if you fix it with a few hours?
