Help with Traffic Stats Widget/Plug In

  • Recently WordPress automatically updated my independently hosted site and my traffic stats widget counter stopped registering new traffic. I tried reverting to the old WordPress version and but it didn’t fix the problem. I checked the widget’s author’s page and the last update was 4 years ago! So I didn’t know what to do but come here. I removed the widget from the side bar of the page since it’s going to make my site look bad, with no recent visitor, and I liked having it there because my traffic volume helped increase my credibility. Any suggestions as to how I might get the current plugin working again, or another one that shows basic traffic stats and can be displayed on a sidebar? Thanks.
    P.S. I know little about coding but can sometimes follow VERY BASIC instructions. Also I’m using the Graphene theme, but I’ve always had that theme and haven’t updated so I don’t think that would be the cause of the problem.

    Last updated was 4 years ago!
    There is a good chance it’s not compatible with WP anymore.

    I will look for a new plugin that’s regularly maintained and updated.
