  • Just disable BuddyPress plugin by renaming it to e.g. xbuddypress or deleting buddypress folder from plugins folder via FTP or cpanel

Btw, what version of BuddyPress did you try to install? Cannot be BP 1.1.3 stable. Should be 1.2 trunk version which you could download by clicking on Zip Archive near bottom of this page https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/trunk

I’m sorry such a newbie, but I did delete folder via FTP, but to no avail. I still can’t get to WP admin or site. Should I just uninstall wordpress and reinstall?

Finally got all the files deleted. Back to normal. Not sure I want to try the new buddy press yet or not again. Thanks for your help!

Still curious which BuddyPress version you installed; or if you auto-installed it (a no-no); or if you downloaded from trunk as I linked above (which is working in my test single WP installation).

I have the same problem here, i just want to test buddypress out.
Mine is a local server with PHP 2.9.2, WP 3.0.4. I’ve disabled some of my suspicious plugin, still doesn’t work.

I’ve tried both auto-install, and local install (zip file).
I can delete the files and see admin page again, but I want to know what the problem is…

    Any idea?
