This used to be the case earlier with mobile OSes. They were designed to not allow background videos to be played automatically – to avoid performance issues and limit cellular data consumption. This has changed slightly now and they apparently allow the same upon first touch of the screen.

Pls give us couple of working days and we will have the YTPlayer script updated to latest version to allow this to happen. Thanks for bringing this up with us.

Unfortunately this is taking longer than we expected. The reason – the option to set video background for a page section/row seems to have been broken in the latest update of YTPlayer library. In fact, their demo illustrating this – https://pupunzi.com/mb.components/mb.YTPlayer/demo/demo_domElement.html is broken too.

Hope we will get a resolution soon on this so that we can go ahead and enable mobile video backgrounds.

Thanks I will let my client know to still wait. Otherwise if it can’t be fixed then do you have a different solution for me, thanks.

    Hi is this any help?

The issue is only on video background for elements and the fix suggested talks about video background set for the page body.

I will give it a shot again in next couple of days and let you know if I find a way out of this. Thanks for your patience.

BTW, playing background video on a mobile may not be advisable, consume valuable resources like battery. Due to small size of the screen, it may not render itself well as a background. The effect that one sees on a desktop won’t be felt on the small screen IMO. I haven’t come across a site which utilizes video as background for a section on mobile. That does not mean it isn’t there but it is certainly not common. The Hero Header widget will replace the video background with a screenshot at present on mobile.
