• Hello,

I’m in the process of optimizing my site for SEO and speed. I hit a few snags when trying to find the appropriate header image size. The image that I currently am using may be too large. In the customization editor, it tells me the header video size in pixels but not for an image.

Could someone please let me know what the specs are for this theme’s hero images so it can run a tad more smoothly especially on mobile devices? ^-^

Also, if there is a plugin that could better format this theme and its content on mobile devices, that would be awesome too! ^-^’

  • Hi @avedabrandmd,

I hope you are doing great.

This is more of a general rule, but you should keep the image size not larger than full HD resolution(1920 x 1080) so it could appear sharp on most of the devices.

There are no specific specs for the exact size, it mostly matters on the compromises you are willing to take with the quality of the image.

The hero image by default is automatically scaled(or cropped) to the resolution of the device opening the page.

Now regarding the plugin for mobile optimization, the Stout theme is optimized for mobile devices and responsive display. If you refer to score improvements(GTMetrix, PageSpeed), do note that having a perfect score would require compromises on functionality(also a general rule).

Appearance changes can be made using the Additional CSS tab if needed and this mainly depends on your personal preference. If you need help adjusting an element on mobile, let me know so I could see what can be done.

I hope this helps, have a nice day,
    Andrija
