• After updating Widgets for Site Origin, this mysterious notice shows up at the top of every admin page, even after it’s been dismissed.

    “Hey guys. Sorry I have not been dedicating enought time to the plugin. I’ll catch up with all outstanding issues as well as add new widgets in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for your support and understanding.”

    It seems to be coming from Widgets for Site Origin. I could be wrong, but if it’s you, I thought you should know.

  • Same here. Clicking “X” just makes it go away until next refresh. Deactivating makes notice go away.

    This happened after the last update on my site as well. It seems to now call a file admin-notice.php in the inc subdirectory of the plugin. I have removed this and the notice is now gone.

    I have to say, however, that this really is a careless bit of code. There is NO identity of who added the notice, and unless you paid attention to when it happened, you have no idea who is “talking” to you.

    It’s bad enough to have to keep up with everything necessary to keep hackers off your site, but when a developer scares the stew out of you, that is NOT COOL.

    I hope the plugin isn’t written as carelessly as this notice was.

    I’ve notified the author directly. I think he might be away at the moment. I’m sure he’ll push an update for us as soon as he’s back at a computer.

    The very same message puzzled me as well. I hope it will be fixed soon, it’s annoying ?? SiteOrigins on the other hand is great! Thanks for it, it really helps me!

    Super ?? Glad to hear you’ve been enjoying the Widgets Bundle. Widgets for SiteOrigin offers some great additional widgets. I’m sure we’ll see this problem get fixed very soon. We are in contact with the developer. Thanks for the support ??

    Sorry guys.. I’ll update with a fix in a few hours..

    Hi Adi,

    Just upgraded to latest version (1.3.5).
    Notice is still rendering.

    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

    for a quick fix open
    /wp-content/plugins/widgets-for-siteorigin/inc/admin-notice.php

    and comment out the following line (#15):

    //add_action( 'admin_notices', 'wpinked_so_admin_notice__info' );

    @adi v 1.3.5
    seems like /plugins/widgets-for-siteorigin/inc/admin-notices-dismissal/dismiss-notice.js is missing

    Thanks Erich!!!

    Still no permanent fix for this?
