    Hi @ahmadword,

    As I can see from the date of your post and the plugin’s last update, the bug happened when upgrading from v1.6.5 to v1.6.6, is that correct? But the only difference was in language support.

    If you experienced trouble with v1.6.5 when upgrading from v1.6.4, then I suggest that you just downgrade by installing v1.6.4 from the bottom of the advanced download page https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/footnotes/advanced/ and not upgrading any more until the bug is identified and fixed. The second-last update was only about an initialisation in the widget area, adjusting margins in CSS, and in class/task.php(340) 2?added lines that don’t seem to do anything. And about an editor button added in the dashboard. So there is nothing to worry about missing out, the less as the plugin worked fine for you.

    If that doesn’t help, please let us know.

    Cheers,
    @pewgeuges

    Sorry, the problem was eventually due to an outdated jQuery library used by the plugin. This has been fixed by using a new library and fixing the old one.

    The fix is in today’s v2.0.0. Our apologies for the delay.

    Does the new release let your website display properly?

    Hello @ahmadword,

    Please update footnotes to version?2.0.4 to fix a GDPR issue reported in https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/gdpr-issue-with-jquery/

    I see that you are having footnotes v2.0.0 enabled and your site displays greatly. Glad for you and for your visitors!

    Please keep up checking your dashboard if not enabling auto-updates as we’re currently releasing patches every fortnight or two trying hard to get even more things fixed.

    After this alert about GDPR, and after this diagnosis, this issue will be marked as resolved.

    Best regards,

    @pewgeuges
