I have checked this situation in our test environment and it does indeed not give any textual warning, but it shows a red (exclamation) warning in the card number field when the card number is not filled in. Do you get the same? And do I understand you correctly that you want to get a textual warning instead of this?
This is an iFrame that is owned/maintained by Paypal, we cannot change this iframe. There might be some way to catch the event from this iFrame of the missing card number to post an additional notice for this error, but you would have to dig further into the inner workings of Paypal. Since this does not affect the tool’s functioning, we cannot prioritize this to get an alternative for it. You will have to check with Paypal or see what you can do yourself to get to an alternative solution then is currently present.
