Hi Wpsoul, I reply to you here because YouTube keeps deleting my comment automatically with No reason.

I was assuming You were also the Blockpress developer since You are using this theme in the Greebshift website. But it would be Fantastic if you decide to create your own companion theme for Greenshift. A Winner Combo like “Neve + Otter”, “GeneratePress + GenerateBlocks”, “Kadence Theme + Kadence Blocks”, “Astra + Spectra”, etc… That is to say, Theme + Block Addon from the same developer.

This way there will be No Compatibility Issues and we will have Perfect Integration with Greenshift.

I know you have Rehub, but it would be great to also have a WP SOUL developed theme available in the WordPress repository in order to compete face to face under equal conditions with established themes like Astra, GeneratePress, Kadence theme, Neve and Blocksy.

And taking into account that you are an incredibly skilled and talented developer, I’m sure you can create a theme even more Lightweight and Faster than the current leaders.

Think about this, it would be the best decision.

I would love to know your thoughts

    All the Best,
    Miguel

Hi. Blockpress is not our theme. We decided to concentrate on plugin. But it’s theme of my friend so we will keep maximum compatibility with theme, maximum integration and we can recommend it if you know how to use FSE themes.

Yes, we can make classic theme but there are so big amount of existed classic themes then it has no big sense to make another one. Currently we will keep using BlockPress especially in fact that it’s totally free and will be free. To be true, we made first release of Blockpress, but WordPress review team has so much nonsense rules, then we decided to give rights of theme to another developer, so, currently he will continue to develop theme and we will concentrate on plugins.

Also, WordPress is moving to block paradigm, themes will be just to set look of system elements like forms and buttons, all other things will be made with plugins

    Hi @wpsoul,

Thanks for your comprehensive reply. I have a great suggestion for Greenshift. Please in the “Font Family” Dropdown List add this option:

    –> Inherit from Theme

This way we will have available the options from the “Style” Dropdown List in order to change the weight of the font –> 100, 200, 300, 400, …., 700, 900, etc… while using our Inherited Theme Fonts. Hope it’s clear what I’m trying to explain. Let me try to explain in detail below:

For example, currently when I set the base “Font Family” in my Theme( Kadence, Astra, etc….) using the typography settings located in the WordPress Customizer, the Greenshift Blocks already use the font that is set in my theme. Until here All Good. —> THE PROBLEM is that if I don’t select any “Font Family” in my Greenshift Blocks, then in the “Style” Dropdown List I get the message “No Options” so, I can’t select the font style( weight) in my Greenshift Block.

I give you this suggestion because if in my Theme I set for example “Roboto”, and then I also set “Roboto” in my Greenshift Blocks in order to have the “Style” Dropdown List options available in the Greenshift Blocks Typography options, then in the front-end will be 2 http-request to the Google Fonts CDN, one from the “Theme” and the other from “Greenshift” and this is very Bad for performance.

I’m Not a developer but I assume the only way to solve this issue is adding to the Greenshift Blocks “Font Family” Dropdown List, the option to “Inherit Fonts from Theme”.

Hi, in typography section, there is Font weight option, it’s made specially for this purpose – to change weight without using Custom font

    Hi @wpsoul,

I see the “Custom Weight” option in the Greenshift “Advanced Heading Block” Block, the problem is that it is incomplete. Let me explain: There is only “Default, Normal and Bold”, so there are missing 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 and 900.

All these values should be listed even when we don’t select any “Google Font” from the “Font Family” Dropdown List.

So the solution would be a Dropdown List for the “Custom Weight” with all these values:

    Default
    Normal
    Bold
    100
    200
    300
    400
    500
    600
    700
    800
    900

Please, install the plugin GenerateBlocks (free version) and you will see exactly what I means once you test its “Headline Block”

    All the Best,
    Miguel
