I’ve been using this plugin for years, and my users who have “editor” accounts have been able to manage the glossary.

But after a recent update they can no longer access the glossary items to edit them, or add new ones.

I’ve checked their permissions using “User Role Editor” and they still have all 11 of the CM Tooltip Glossary permissions applied to their account role:

    create_posts
    delete_others_posts
    delete_posts
    delete_private_posts
    delete_published_posts
    edit_others_posts
    edit_posts
    edit_private_posts
    edit_published_posts
    publish_posts
    read_private_posts

So what is missing then? This capabilities are global and not related to the glossary plugin

Are they able to create post in other plugins?

    Thanks for the speedy reply!

Yes, they’re able to create posts in all other areas of WordPress. And they used to be able to create Glossary items, but since the update that has gone away.

If they hover over the CM Tooltip option in WordPress (on the left-hand menu) they can see Settings, User Guide and Upgrade. But they cannot see Glossary or Add New as they used to.

    Hi,

I’m closing this as I’ve found the solution. Somehow the permission “manage_glossary” had gotten removed for them. Either there was an unrelated bug or some kind of conflict between the update and another plugin perhaps?

I am not aware of that and we didn’t receive such complaint from another customer. Thanks for the update
