• Background:
I installed v1.2.2 some months ago (a version not listed in the plugin changelog), and never received a plugin update notification. This morning I was prompted to update to v2.0.8… Surprised that so many versions had come and gone with no notifications!

    Current Issue:
Pages that were previously hidden are now visible. None of the available settings seem to affect page visibility. For pages with no parent, they are now listed beneath my nav menu, floating in space. For pages with a parent, they now appear under the parent page in the nav menu hierarchy.

  • I’ve updated tonight and have the same problem – all hidden pages now appearing in my main navigation. Deleted the plug in, reinstalled with no luck. My exposed pages include ebook download links, that I’ve had to put into draft as I can’t see how to hide them! As usual, the page menu in my dashboard has them listed as ALWAYS hidden. Really frustrated.

@bconstant @superluckydi Can you guys please provide your site ?

https://superlucky.me/ – all ‘hidden’ pages are temporarily in draft at the moment.

    *Reads. Sighs.*

Nuts, now I need to review and redact all of the author’s replies…

@superluckydi Please do not provide the author access to your site that way, it’s extremely unsafe and the author should not have for asked that.

@rmahfoud I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

It’s all good and thanks for your understanding.

@superluckydi why not just remove those pages from menu editor which you do not want to show?

I’ve not used a menu for my navigation – it’s automatically made up of pages & categories. Here’s a screenshot of my PAGES tab at the moment. The pages in draft are the troublesome ones.

…if I change its status from Draft to Published, the Blog Giveaways ebook download page appears on my top navigation despite being set as ‘always hidden’.

@superluckydi do you have “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu” option checked Appearance->Menu , Can you uncheck that and see ?

OP here, my URL is https://brattlefilm.org, though I have moved the hidden pages into the nav menu hierarchy as a temporary workaround.

    Pages are:
About > Announcing the 15×15 Initiative
    Join > Reserve Tickets

I’ve sussed it! I don’t use menus, but in Appearance > Navigation there’s a list of the pages that feature in the top nav and they were all checked – so I’ve unchecked the hidden ones and all is well. Not sure why the update affected this though?

    Thanks for your help, scriptburn.

@scriptburn I have installed the 2.0.10 update released today but still have the issue. Please advise.

I’ve got the same issue. Temporarily turned all hidden pages to draft, but that’s not an ideal solution.
